Optoma UHD60 & Optoma UHD50 Black Friday Deals 2021
Take a close look for the past few years; you’ve been able to get a pretty great projector for under two grand but before the Optima UHD 60. A 4k projector would run you at least ten thousand dollars. That’s why we’ve been excited to see what this projector could do, and in short, it’s stunning.
Brightness & Colors
The UHD 60 is rated to a max output of 3000 lumens which means it is bright enough to put up an image that can be seen well in a room with some light. Of course, you won’t get the fantastic contrast that way, but it is visible darken the lights though, and this projector pops with excellent white brightness and color brightness— checkout Optoma CinemaX P2 Black Friday Sales.
The projector has a good range of controls for focus zoom and vertical lens shifting. I’d like to see some horizontal then shift, but I guess you can’t have everything.
Generally speaking, this is one of the more accessible projectors. I’ve set up. I appreciate that you get a full suite of controls in the menu with test patterns that make getting the image squared up and accurate much easier.
The picture setting options run deep, but frankly, the picture presets on this projector are great in a blacked-out room. The cinema or reference presets are excellent, but choose the HDR preset for the best image in a room with light. This HDR mode will also sort of exclusive non-HDR content.
Optima UHD50 is a 4k UHD projector that uses a TI chip. This is Optima’s newest entry into the 4k realm, and it’s at the lowest price point.
This has a six segments color wheel in the RGB color wheel, so if you have a tendency to see rainbows and a lot of your DLP projectors, that goes a long way to kind of combat. You know, the other side has a lower amount of lumen brightness than the 60 or 65 comings in around 2200 lumens.
Home Theater Projector
You need to control the ambient lighting in your room or put this in a dedicated home theatre now as far as placement flexibility. It has a different throw range and a slightly smaller zoom range at 1.3 times zoom to give you an idea of what that means one hundred thirty-inch images on this projector.
You can get from eleven and a half to around 15 feet away, whereas the UHD 60 or something like that, you would have to be several feet back, and you have a little bit of a more extended throw range.
There are some cons and pros, I guess, to the two different models, but in the meantime, let’s take a look at the back of the implants.
Okay, now we’re looking at the back of the UHD 50, and here are all the inputs now. Note this is probably a pre-production model, so some of the actual labels may change, but what you have here is your rs-232 on the 50.
Surprisingly both of these HDMI inputs are 2.0 4k compliant, so that’s actually a big update from the previous models, and then you have your standard VGA input, and you have a 12 little trigger audio in and out USB and your s/pdif crate.
