Epson 5050UB Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2021
Today we’re looking at the Epson 5050UB. I’ve had the opportunity to see Epson projectors like the 5040UB and the 4010 in person, but seeing them in my home theatre has changed my whole perspective, so I gave the 50/50. In the past few years, all the laser lamps and led projectors reviewed on this channel have all been DLP projectors.
So Epson projectors are not DLP. They’re known as three LCDs, and the main benefit of three LCDs is that they usually have brighter and more accurate colors and don’t have the rainbow effect. The Epson home cinema 50/50 UB is a 4k capable home theatre projector that sells for just under three thousand dollars in a box.
I like the design of this projector the only thing I’d like to change is that it be black instead of white, but you have to spend on the 6050. You betta get a black body on the front. You have your lens IR sensor and your vents and what’s nice is that the lens has a built-in motorized lens cover that automatically opens and closes.
When you turn the projector on or off, the top is nice and clean except for a few LED indicator lights. You won’t find much on the sides except on the right side. You will have a small door with a few buttons behind it.
Ports & Connection
You’re going to have an optical HDMI port, so that’s going to be a USB port that you’re going to use if you’re using an optical cable; you also get two HDMI 2.0 ports which are excellent.
It supports 4k HDR at 60 frames per second, a USB type port that you can use for power service port a land port used to control. The projector remotely has a VGA port rs-232 and a 12-volt trigger.
Colors & Brightness
It produces 2,600 lumens of actual color brightness. It has a motorized lens-powered focus that covers a hundred percent of rec 709, and DCI p3 has horizontal and vertical launch and auto iris and even though. When I got this thing set up, not only does it have crazy brightness, but the black levels are incredible.
The black levels were so good that I felt wrong about my white ceiling in front of the screen, and now painting my ceiling black is at the top of my list of things to do on my home theatre, but I can see why they put the UV at the end of 5050.
