Epson 5050UB Black Friday Sales:
Get this model if you want a projector showing you what 4K looks like in its most refined form. Its ability to handle high dynamic range (HDR) content is a massive deal for me, as I often use HDR content on the go. Many other projectors require a separate HDR receiver (generally an external box that hooks up to your TV), but the 5050UB has an integrated HDMI 2.0 port. So even if you’re streaming from the internet via Chromecast or something else, you can still enjoy the benefits of HDR.
They’re known as three LCDs, and the main benefit of three LCDs is that they usually have brighter and more accurate colors and don’t have the rainbow effect. The Epson home cinema 50/50 UB is a 4k capable home theatre projector that sells for under three thousand dollars in a box.
You have your lens IR sensor and your vents and what’s nice is that the lens has a built-in motorized lens cover that automatically opens and closes. When you turn the projector on or off, the top is nice and clean except for a few LED indicator lights. You won’t find much on the sides except on the right side. You will have a small door with a few buttons behind it.
Ports & Connection
You’ll have an optical HDMI port, so that’s going to be a USB port that you’ll use if you’re using an optical cable; you also get two HDMI 2.0 ports which are excellent.
It supports 4k HDR at 60 frames per second, a USB type port that you can use for power service port a land port used to control. The projector remotely has a VGA port rs-232 and a 12-volt trigger.
Colors & Brightness
It produces 2,600 lumens of actual color brightness. It has a motorized lens-powered focus that covers a hundred percent of rec 709, and DCI p3 has horizontal and vertical launch and auto iris and even though. When I got this thing set up, not only did it have crazy brightness, but the black levels were incredible.
The black levels were so good that I felt wrong about my white ceiling in front of the screen, and now painting my ceiling black is at the top of my list of things to do in my home theatre, but I can see why they put the UV at the end of 5050.
