DEWALT DCD771C2 Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2021
We’re reviewing this half-inch drive drill driver kit from Dewalt. I purchased this because my older Dewalt models, the 9 volts 750 the 18 volts 759, have old battery platforms in them, so the sales are failing quite often to rebuild those cells. It comes inside this pre-pack contractor’s bag, one owner’s manual, one stationary charger, two different 20-volt batteries and your half-inch drill driver everything.
It comes with most kits in the 20-volt platform because it works with 12 to 20-volt battery packs allowing it to charge a wide variety of batteries. It has led indicators to inform you when they’re fully charged or if it has a hot-cold delay that comes with these two 1.5 amp hour battery packs, model number dcd-207. They’re 20-volt max lithium-ion batteries with a 60-minute charge time.
Size & Design
We have our trademark black and yellow drill driver that comes in at only 3.6 pounds, and it’s 9 inches long front to back. They call this a compact drill, but this model is only compact compared to older models like the bosch. The brute line model was originally released several years ago, and the design has since been upgraded to the Brussels triple seven and the extreme subcompact series.
It does have a straight body design; there’s no angle to the head. The handgrip is fully wrapped in a thick textured rubber overmold, ensuring that it’s very comfortable and has the anti-slip grip thick rubber hump. The drill to rest right there on the back of your hand during operation, unlike some drills out, adds to the comfort and control during use.
It also has a built-in led light overhead with a 20-second delay, turning on whenever the trigger is engaged. It turns off 20 seconds after the trigger’s been released. It acts as an improvised flashlight and gives you some visibility in those dark spaces. The trigger is also wired into an electronic brake feature, which engages every time you release this trigger, as I’ll demonstrate.
It’s also made with a two-speed high-performance transmission, and the two-speed switch is located on top of the drill housing. It has a no-load speed of zero to 450 rpm speed & a no-load speed of zero to 1500 RPMs. So you can easily choose which speed is best suited for your job.
Part & Accessories
You also choose 16 different clutches to help you navigate the torque you need for that specific job. If you’re working on delicate materials, you’re going to want to flip it to speed one and combine that by going all the way down to the first clutch setting. This gives you the lightest amount of torque, and then you can move your way up from there.
If you need something that drives a little bit harder, all you got to do is enhance those clutch settings and bring it to the point where it’s got the torque that you need what you’re working. If you’re drilling into a cabinet, you don’t want to go entirely too fast because you could crack that cabinet that will cost you a lot of money, so you’re going to want to start slow and then work your way up on speed.
