Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover Black Friday Deals 2021
Today I’m going to discuss the Bakflip mx4 truck bed cover and whether it’s worth the money during Black Friday. So one of the reasons I wanted to get a tunnel cover was to protect lumber that I bought for woodworking projects by keeping it dry. Is it completely secure, like camping gear during the summer season? No, and I would recommend that if you’re looking for something that gives you the ultimate security and protection, go with the diamondback cover, but be prepared to pay more than twice the price.
It also protects against fingerprints and other smudges that you might find on other truck bed covers that have a smooth painted finish on the aluminum panels. They claim that this truck bed cover is rated to support 400 pounds evenly distributed. I don’t usually put anything on top of it. So I’m not going to test that, but that’s what the manufacturer rates it at. It comes with a five-year warranty, and another thing I like about it is that it allows you to bet 100 percent of the time. One disadvantage of this truck bed cover is that you must open the tailgate to gain access to your bed.
So, while that may be a big deal for some people, it isn’t for others like me. Some people just want to be able to access their truck bed without having to open the tailgate, but you do have to open the tailgate for this one. Each panel has a small pull cable that allows you to open it as much as you need. You have full access to the bed, and you can lock it in place by pulling your support bar up.
It comes with fairly comprehensive instructions, and there are numerous videos on YouTube that you can watch while you wait. Basically, you install these rails, which come with these little clamps, on both sides, and then it’s just a matter of putting the bed cover on top of the rails and locking it into place. As you can see up here in the front, the only thing I haven’t done yet is connected these drain tubes and then put you in your bed.
There are plastic grommets on both sides that you drill a hole through and simply feed that through so that water drains from these channels down the drain tube and out between the cabin and the truck bed. Okay, another thing I’ll mention is that Back Industries has excellent customer service.
I’ve had several other models of tonneau covers on previous trucks and this one is by far the best. I like the best looks of it, the versatility, being able to customize the amount that you open it for different loads, and the fact that you don’t have to remove it to have full bed access like you do with some other tonneau covers.
